Creating Steampunk hardware is the most fun I've had in years. I peruse auctions, estate sales, antique fairs, and garage sales to find the items.
Once I'm surrounded by piles of 'stuff', I just start visualizing what they could become. It' like putting together a puzzle, without any reference photo. Then there's that Ah Ha! moment, when it all looks right. Like the pieces were always meant to be together, but got lost along the way. There is something magical knowing that you've just created something that's one of a kind.
The blend of Victorian sensibilities and alternate timeline Earth design is something new in the art world, and I'm glad to be part of it.
