 HOW I WORK

As an illustrator I work both traditionally and digitally. I use a Macintosh and Photoshop for digital work. Traditionally I use oils on illustration board, and I am equally comfortable using airbrush and acrylics.

As a photographer I can blend paintings and photographs digitally.

I've worked with many large and small companies. I have never been late delivering a job, and rarely complain (at least out loud) to the client. A client once called me "easy to work with".

A partial list of clients include Disney, Mattel, Time magazine, Pepsi, McDonalds, Jim Henson, TSR, Penguin books, DAW books, Roc books, Bantam books, Apple, Universal Studios, RCA/Columbia, CBS, Blockbuster, Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox, Carnation, Kraft foods, and Nestles.

I've won many awards from TV ACE, Hollywood Reporter and in the fantasy arena.

Early Jobs
My first art job was in 1978 with Fine Line Design. I did paintings and murals for restaurant decor. In 1980 I began to freelance doing greeting cards and book covers. I soon began working for the movie industry painting comps, movie posters, and video box covers.

Working With Disney
I was given a business card of an art director at Disney Home Video. When I went to the meeting with him I had among other things, eight sketches I had done for the movie poster of Ruthless People. After six art directors looked through my color samples, one of them said, "We're looking for someone to do comps for the video box cover for a movie called Ruthless People." I smiled, and reached into the back flap of my portfolio. I brought out my sketches and asked, "like these?" They could only say one thing, "You're hired". Thus began a wonderful relationship with the Mouse. I've since done well over 600 jobs for Disney.
